G. Thomas Martin, III (“Tom”) has devoted the past seventeen years of his legal career to protecting the rights of consumers in individual and class action claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, and California’s Invasion of Privacy Act, amongst others.

Tom has obtained nine class action settlements (including one for 4.1 million dollars in a contested certification proceeding) in California, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Louisiana and Tennessee. 

In 2009, Tom was reported to be the 13th ‘most active’ consumer attorney in the United States for that calendar year (representing 176 consumers in the federal courts alone) and in 2012, he was reported to be the 7th ‘most active’ consumer attorney in the country (representing 161 consumers in the federal courts alone). 

Tom has also been recognized as a Southern California “Super Lawyer” in the area of Consumer Law every year from 2015 through 2026.

Tom is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he received certification for completion of the Dispute Resolution Services’ training program as a mediator in 2006. He has been a featured guest on Ron Siegel’s Home & Finance Radio on AM 1510 and Money Radio 1200 in Southern California.
